Dry Needling
and acupuncture are both treatment adjuncts that assist in decreasing pain and
improving function in a variety of acute and chronic conditions.
Whilst dry
needling and acupuncture follow similar principles, they differ as
· Dry needling focuses on releasing muscular trigger points
·
Acupuncture
focuses on restoring the flow of Qi or energy within the body by placing the
needles in specialised meridian points to restore balance.
Both
techniques involve placing a fine acupuncture needle into the skin and
underlying muscles to decrease pain and improve function. Our physiotherapists are
experienced and well versed in both dry needling and acupuncture.
